BY JACK CRIDERIn January 26 of this year, the Venetian Hotel and Casino in the Regions of the Peoples Republic of China, Macau will play host to a
historical boxing event. Macau is located near Hong Kong. This area of the world has been flirting with the idea of a big boxing show for some time. Some of the top boxing companies have been mentioned
as promoters who were interested in putting together an event for the Regions of the Peoples Republic of China.
Sal Musumeci, President of Final Forum Boxing has accomplished this task putting together what
looks like an exciting event for Macau. The event will feature in the Main Event WBF International Heavyweight Champion, Derric Rossy (17-1-0) taking on former World Heavyweight Champion and former Gold Medallist,
Ray Mercer (35-6-0). This will be for three separate sanctioned Titles for twelve rounds. These titles are the WBF International Title, WBC Asian Boxing Council Heavyweight Title, Pacific Boxing Council and
WBO/NABO Heavyweight Titles.
The Main Event looks to be very exciting with Rossy and Mercer both trying to gain status in the Heavyweight Division. The Co-Featured bout will feature Shanghai, China's WIBA World
Middleweight Champion, Wang Ya Nan taking on Top Rated Janaya Davis from Stone Mountain Georgia, U.S.A. This bout could be even more exciting that the main event. Also slated to fight on the card are four
other bouts featuring local fighters from Hong Kong and Macau.
The event will be telecast live in front of an audience of 180 Million Homes in the Chinese market place. The tape-delayed broadcast will be shown
on over 90 Million Homes in the United States and Canada and Internationally.
This event will mark the first time in the history of Macau, that a World Wide Boxing Event has been produced for television in this
country. Final Forum Boxing is very proud to be selected the first United States Promoter to be chosen to bring this World Wide Attraction to Macau.
